Maintenance Requirements of Armored Vehicles

More and more people are opting for armored vehicles to ensure complete safety and security when they, or their loved ones, travel on the road. Accordingly, there are varied bulletproof vehicles for sale from various civilian armored vehicle companies.

Now, it goes without saying that an armored vehicle will require regular servicing and maintenance just like ordinary vehicles. Servicing is scheduled by manufacturers at regular intervals to keep the vehicle running smoothly and also increase its life expectancy.

However, armored vehicles feature upgrades like layers of armor plating in the doors and frames, bulletproof glass in the windows, bomb protection blanket on the floor, run-flat tires on the wheels, etc. All these materials pack up oodles of additional weight that is bound to encumber the vehicle performance. In fact, regular ballistic steel armor can add as much as 1800kgs to the vehicle. This calls for modifications in the engine, axles, suspension, etc. to power the heavy load. It follows that the additional weight will still burden the vehicle and requires more frequent servicing and maintenance. Only then can the armored vehicle keep running properly.

In contrast, Armormax is a revolutionary armoring material developed by International Armoring Corporation (www.armormax.com) that has been independently certified as the lightest armor in the world. It proves to be a mind-boggling 60% lighter than regular armoring materials and therefore does not encumber the vehicle as much. In fact, the average added weight ranges from a mere 150kgs to 500kgs depending on the level of ballistic protection required by the customer.

This way IAC is able to ensure that both the vehicle performance and appearance is not affected by the armoring. Their bulletproof vehicles for sale continue to remain discreet on the roads and run smoothly just like their factory versions. To add to this, Armormax is also able to reduce the service requirements as well as increase the life expectancy of the armored vehicle!

The Evolution of Armored Vehicles

Technology is advancing by leaps and bounds. Something new is hitting us all the time. We have grown from wired landlines to cordless phones to mobile phones to smart phones now. Televisions, music systems, computers and other gadgets – they are accelerating in terms of capabilities and technologies. Everything is changing – from the way we work to the way we interact with others to the way we entertain ourselves.

Now we have bulletproof vehicles for sale for civilians. These are vehicles that have been armored to the teeth – right from the hood to the boot and from the roof to the base. Yet, they continue to look and perform just like the regular vehicles on the road. This is thanks to the superior and lightweight Armormax technology used by progressive companies like International Armoring Corporation (www.armormax.com).

However, things were not always like this. Armored vehicles were restricted to combat and warfare earlier. These were crude wagons that were simply covered with steel plates for protection. History has witnessed armoring progress from an iron shield in front of the driver to regular vehicles fitted with basic armor and weapons for military use. Both the world wars also had huge and bulky armored fighting tanks that looked quite threatening. Over the years, scout cars were introduced, but the use was limited to the armed forces, law enforcement and reconnaissance purposes.

It is only over the past decades that armored vehicles have become mainstream and are being used by civilians. Initially they were considered mandatory to protect heads of state and other important government officials. Slowly they started being favored by celebrities and top business executives who are in the limelight and face threats to their person.

Today, regular people on the roads have started using armored vehicles to ensure safety and security for themselves and their loved ones. Bulletproof vehicles for sale with sophisticated technology are available easily and that too, at reasonable prices!
